Who is suitable for treatment?

The non-surgical rhinoplasty is the perfect option to improve almost all aesthetic concerns you have about your nose. It’s suitable for people over 18 who want a fast, effective, and no downtime way to achieve a beautiful nose that looks great in the mirror, and in photos.

It’s also a great option for people who are:

• Considering surgery but who want to test out what their results could look like

• Unsure whether a new nose would suit them, and want an easily reversible option

• Don’t have the budget or downtime available to have surgery

Who is NOT suitable for treatment?

• Individuals under 18 years of age

• Individuals with any signs of infection at the proposed injection site.

• Individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive

• Individuals who are anaphylactic to bees or wasps

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes, but at your appointment you will need to take photos, discuss the procedure and risks and suitability for treatment, and sign a consent form. Patients can expect to be at the clinic for about 30-45 minutes.

Is the treatment painful?

Usually individuals find the treatment very tolerable, with minimal discomfort. There is local anaesthetic in the products used. Some areas of the treatment are more sensitive than others.

How can I prepare for my appointment?

• Remove all makeup before your appointment

• If applicable, shave or closely trim the treatment area the day before

• Avoid alcohol and blood thinners (unless medically required) within 24 hours of your appointment

• Refrain from intense exercise immediately before your appointment

What is the price of treatment?

Is the treatment reversible?

Yes, the treatment is fully reversible if for any reason you do not like the result.

What are the risks of treatment?

All cosmetic treatments carry risks. It is important to visit an experienced practitioner to help minimise these risks. Risks include:

• Bleeding and bruising

• Swelling in the injection area - this may last for a few days

• Infection

• Allergic reaction to the product

• Asymmetry 

• Inflammatory reaction to the product - either soon after treatment or months down the track - can require steroids/antibiotics/dissolving for treatment (rare)

• Lumps/nodules/granuloma - lumps can become visible under the skin either soon after treatment or months down the track - these can require dissolving of the product with hyalase, sometimes in combination with steroids/antibiotics (rare)

• Vascular occlusion (blood vessel being blocked, interfering with blood supply to the skin, causing skin necrosis). This could lead to scarring/permanent skin damage, or in very rare instances blindness or stroke. Hyalase (reversal agent) can be used to reverse a blocked artery (rare)

• Need for further treatment

Aftercare

After your treatment, proper aftercare is crucial for optimal healing and results:

• Until the following day avoid makeup, alcohol, smoking and intense exercise

• Gently apply a wrapped ice pack (if required) to the treated areas to minimise swelling

• Panadol can be taken for pain relief in the days following the procedure (sometimes the nose can feel tender for a few days)

• Do not apply pressure to the treated areas for 7 days
