Skin Peels (Chemical Peels)
Reveal your glowing skin, with an instant skin refresh
What is a Skin Peel?
A Skin Peel (also known as a Chemical Peel) is an effective, yet non-invasive treatment designed to improve a number of different skin conditions on the face or body. This includes reducing wrinkles, brightening complexion, targeting pigment, smoothing skin texture, or clearing congested skin (e.g. acne). Depending on your specific skin concern, Dr Gemma will tailor a bespoke treatment plan to suit your skin goals.
Despite the term ‘Peel’, skin peels generally have very limited downtime, and result more in ‘flaking’ than ‘peeling’.
The strength of the skin peel will determine the downtime, with superficial peels designed to be used for glowing ‘event ready’ skin a couple of days post peel. Deeper peels (such as the Doctor-only peels) may have up to one week of skin flaking.
How do Skin Peels work?
Skin Peels work by removing the top layers of the skin, which helps to resurface, smooth, and plump, while activating collagen and elastin to firm and tighten the skin’s surface. They also help to normalise the skin barrier, regulate oil production and diminish free radical activity. Superfical peels enhance the skin’s radiance while more intense peels deliver amazing results on wrinkles, age spots, acne scarring and stretch marks.

During your appointment, your unique skin concerns and skin goals will be discussed. From there, Dr Gemma will devise a bespoke treatment plan to target these concerns. You will then sign a consent form and have your photos taken for your medical file.
During the skin peel, your skin will be cleansed, prepped with certain products, and the skin peel applied. You may feel some tingling or stinging on the skin, however this is very tolerable and short-lived. The peel will then be removed and any after care will be discussed.
You will notice immediate results in your skin, however you may be pink immediately after and sometimes for longer (for deeper peels). Results will then improve over the following week.

Pricing is dependant on the peel chosen, and ranges from $300-$400 per peel. Usually a series of peels may be needed for more specific concerns such as pigment or acne. Peels can also be used as one-off treatments before events.
Some peels can be added onto another treatment at a reduced rate of $200 per peel (ie. in combination with wrinkle treatment).
